Becoming Conflict Secure - Somatically: The Body as Compass

Conflict isn’t what breaks us — avoidance is. Most of us learned to survive conflict by abandoning ourselves: going numb, fixing, over-explaining, fleeing, or freezing. But the body remembers every rupture. Until we learn to stay with what arises — the heat, the shame, the urge to disappear — real repair stays out of reach.

This zine is a gentle invitation into conflict security: the capacity to stay connected to yourself when things get hard, so you can stay connected to others when it matters most.

Inside, you’ll find somatic practices, reflection prompts, and embodied frameworks to help you:
• Feel activation — the heat, the tightening, the rush — and still stay with yourself.
• Name what’s happening without needing to make it stop or ask others to make it stop. Conflict becomes sensation, not threat.
• Get curious about the feelings and stories underneath the sensations — what is your body trying to tell you?
• Hold space for the wounds that surface in conflict, so that conflict becomes a site of healing rather than harm.

I hope that after practicing with me, we stop experiencing conflict as a failure of love, but instead, a place where love can deepen, within us. Because before we can repair the world, we have to return to the place that remembers how. This place is our bodies.

IMPORTANT:

To be conflict secure means that conflict no longer threatens your sense of belonging, worth, or safety. Becoming Conflict Secure needs to be practiced somatically, relationally, so we can extend it collectively.

This zine is focusing on the somaticpart of becoming conflict secure.
