Job Opening: Virtual Assistant/Tech Support (Independent contractor/Freelance)

We have a new opportunity for a Virtual Assistant to join our team at Erotics of Liberation as a remote freelancer/independent contractor. This role is pivotal in creating the necessary support needed for workshops and customer care, ensuring alignment with Erotics of Liberation’s overarching goals.

The job

Location: Remote | Start: Summer 2025

Reports to: Founder of Erotics of Liberation, Care.

We are looking for a well organized, emotionally intelligent and proactive Virtual Assistant/Tech Support to join Erotics of Liberation— a Black, trans, queer-led platform devoted to abolitionist intimacy, collective healing, and liberatory relationships.

This role is pivotal in supporting our content and organic marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with our company’s overarching goals. The Virtual Assistant will support and collaborate with the Founder of Erotics of Liberation, Care, to plan and set up all workshops, events and more.

About us

  • Erotics of Liberation is a Black, trans, queer feminist-led team on a mission to support everyone access safety, dignity, belonging. We believe that abolition is the only tool for collective healing and liberation, and that abolition is relational practice, meaning that we need to practice abolition in our relationships, first.

  • We start within, by prioritizing our team’s wellbeing with a compensation that allows you to live in dignity (depending on where you live), and we believe that you being in your creative genius is the best (if not only) way for you to be thriving in your job.

  • We also believe in mutual aid as a practice and give 5% of all our company’s revenue directly to Black and Trans folks via We Take Care of We Fund, a Fund organized by Erotics of Liberation to support them financially.

  • Currently, Care is working with 2 team members on their 1-year long program called Liberation Practice Field (LPF): Jess Davidson (she/her), the Project Manager of LPF, and Nike Aurea (she/her), the Community Manager of the program. You might work with them occasionally but will mostly support Care in workshops they organize outside of LPF.

What you’ll Do

Workshop Setup

Pre-Workshop Support

  • Set up Zoom link for the workshop

  • Set up Acuity (form + appointment scheduling)

  • Draft and send email confirmation

  • Draft and send email reminders

  • Draft and send follow-up email with:

  • Replay link

  • Chat log

  • Transcript

  • Slides

  • Any additional resources mentioned during the workshop

  • Feedback form link

  • Create feedback form for participants and analyze responses

Live Workshop Support

  • Be present during the live workshop

  • Facilitate breakout rooms if needed

  • Ensure the call runs smoothly

  • Monitor and support participant needs and questions during the session

  • Take notes on participant feedback, needs, and wishes for future workshops

  • Monitor the chat for questions, concerns, and engagement

Post-Workshop Support

  • Provide client/customer care (e.g., resending replay links, answering follow-up questions)

  • Update website with workshop-related content as needed

  • Gather and organize feedback for creating testimonials, reviews, or posts based on the workshop

Website Maintenance

  • Update website with workshop-related content as needed

  • Regularly check website links and pages to ensure everything is working properly

  • Flag and correct broken links or outdated content

Email & Inbox Management

  • Organize incoming emails into clear folders or categories

  • Prioritize important emails and flag urgent matters

  • Respond to or draft replies for routine inquiries

  • Keep inbox clean, manageable, and aligned with team workflows

Bonus: community building

  • if you are interested in managing Discord channels and/or any type of content post workshop

Who you Are

  • A freelancer/independent contractor who can work remote and invoice Erotics of Liberation

  • A strategic thinker with a strong backbone in organization

  • An excellent communicator + understand how to support best Care’s work

  • Can be proactive and take things off Care’s plate

  • Experienced in Zoom set up

  • Passionate about creating digital spaces (or learn how to!)

  • Comfortable working on Squarespace (Acuity, specifically)

  • Deeply collaborative with a queer, anti-racist, transformative justice-rooted ethos

  • Curious and analytical—able to track performance metrics and translate insights into changes you could put in place for next workshops (from feedback form, chat, emails)

Bonus if you have

  • Knowledge of Squarespace formatting

  • Discord knowledge (creating Discord channels post workshop is often asked by participants)

  • Experience working in wellness, abolitionist, or community-based businesses

What we offer

Freelance (contractor) monthly retainer, depending on experience and availability. Open to crafting a sustainable arrangement together.

You will be hired as an independent contractor working for EOL.

Care is French and believes in 4-day work week. Therefore part time is 15 hours and full-time is 32 hours, not more!

My goal is that this position slowly transitions to a full time offer, over time.

The interview process
